I agree, Zombie. However, if it's an outright downpour, I have no problem in pulling off. Hard as hell to see when it's like that, and slowing down just adds to the risk of being rear ended by some dumbazz cager.
Caleb you live in florida where it rains allmost every day and have a problem riding in the rain?
Yes texastom I do live in FL. So if it rains here "almost everyday" then how do you ride in texas where there must be a tornado almost everyday? It doesnt rain as much as you think, been here 25 years. And if you read my post it said I have a problem during a down pour. I dont mind rain, it cools you off. But when it realy comes down I get nervous. 7 years ago I almost died in a wreck during a downpour that was not my fault. I couldnt walk for 3 months after words and couldnt work for 6 months. So yes it left a lasting impression on me. But I still have to ride. Ive been on a bike for close to 10 years and will never stop, riding rain or no rain. Its just an issue I have that I will eventually overcome or I will continue to be the guy under the overpass during hard rain. Just thought I would get some input.
Caleb meant no offense have relatives in tampa I visit every year maybe a coincidence seems like it rains every afternoon, dont blame you when it rains hard I look for a way off the road, and yes we have tornados every day starting in late march through august ,the trick is you have to ride in the same direction as they spin, now of course this will cause you to speed up quite a bit...Tom..
Just an additional thought. I have been in a damn near panic when it's rained hard enough I wasn'teven sure I could see the right edge of the freeway and there wasno way in he!! that I can slow down for fear of being rear ended. Yes, heavy rain sucks !!!
A hard rain is bad enough. A hard rain at night when you have to use the lines on the road just to keep your bearings is even worse. A hard rain at night when you suddenly ride onto newly paved unlined road is a nightmare. Trust me on this one.
It was a pucker factor of infinity plus one for about 15 seconds.
I have to agree. I hate riding in the rain. It is hard to see and the cagers are nuts when it rains. You think that they are on a speedway and can see for miles. But that is my 2cnts worth.
I have and will continue to ride in the rain when I have no other choice, but I also am not very comfortable with it, especially in a downpour, or at night in the rain. I guess I'm justa poser .

Yea rain sucks but if you ride your going to find yourself in it. Good sense and good equipment can make you feel a lot better. Good tires, rainsuit, goggles, plenty lights and reflective material etc. I've made my bike ready for the rain. I hope I am. When all else fails a comfy motel room.

Yeah, it's like, "where did the road go"? Like riding into the twilight zone. I try not to ride at night unless I am on the interstates. I just can't see well enough and when you throw rain into the mix, I might as well be blind. Not fun.
