Be yourself and ignore the bozos.

I have never gotten crap from anybody (yet). No tats, no facial hair, short hair, the only I get is nice bike. I am 35 and riding an '06 Springer Classic.

I've never had a problem with my flat-top fitting in, I guess not really caring about it has something to do with it? My tats are what I wanted, my beard is what I wanted, the bikes I ride are the ones I want to. Be yourself, man! Are you worried about what the chicks think as well? Again, be yourself. If you like cruising, ride a cruiser. If you like touring, ride a bagger. If you're downtown in a crowded neighborhood, ride a scooter! F%$& what anybody else thinks.

When other people start paying my mortgage and bills, I'll start caring what they have to say. Till then they can STFU!

At my age its not cool to have long hair, beards & wear tons of leather, Im not going to change myself to blend w/ some "image" I will be safe comfortable& enjoy riding whenever & wherever I possibly can. if this makes me a RUB than F*** it, Im having the time of mylife & I feel fortunate at my age to have my dream bike. Happy riding People!
Well, I'm 51, have very short hair, no beard, no tats, no piercings, wear little jewelry (wedding band, sometimes a Harley ring, sometimes a watch), and never owned chaps or leather pants. Screw the "image", and screw labels. "Cool" doesn't have diddly to do with any of that; it's living life on your own terms and having the ***** to go your own way regardless of what others are doing. It's also in how you treat, and interact with, your fellow human beings. A poser isn't a guy wearing a full-face on a Harley, it's the guy trying to look like/act likesomething he's not.
That's my 3 1/2 cents.

i started on my honda 50 at 5.
i feel a little alienated at times too. im 30 and i happen to have long hair and a bunch of visable tattoos.i don't know if it is my perception or what, probably is. most of the biker hang outs i stop at; most of the people are much older than i am, or seem like it. harley riders definately are not a young crowd, but im not that young anymore either. most of them are not long haired tattooed guys either. who knows, people just have different interests and priorties at different times in their lives, i don't let it get me down. it would be nice to find a group of guys who are into bikes but that im a little more compatible with. im kinda intimidated by those giant guyssporting "burn this one" patches while a belting out john cougar song along with the dude playing the cover tunes.

"Not cool"? "some image"? Me thinks thou doth protest too much.

You can't claim that you want to be an individual, different from the "real bikers" and then say you are part of a new generation who all want to look like each other. Best thing you can do is shut up and ride. Oh ... and leave the attitude at the door when you go places where "real bikers" hang out.
