HI, Im 28 yrs old, ive been riding motorcycles since I was 4 yrs old, Whenever I go somewhere I feel like "the Real Bikers" Think im a RUB or Poseur. I have a 2005 Springer classic, FXRG Nylon jacket & pants and a Nolan full face flip up helmet. I work really hard (2 Jobs 7 days a week) to afford the lifestyle I lead, I dont get to ride as much as I want but im always down for a 500 mile day ride when i dont have to work. I think there is a new generation of bikers coming up. at my age its not cool to have long hair, beards & wear tons of leather, Im not going to change myself to blend w/ some "image" I will be safe comfortable& enjoy riding whenever & wherever I possibly can. if this makes me a RUB than F*** it, Im having the time of mylife & I feel fortunate at my age to have my dream bike. Happy riding People!
You are too concerned about what "others" think. For me, life is about me and what I think of myself, not others opinions. Opinions are like azzholes, everbody has one...
As far as what is cool or not cool, who decides this? I have freinds who liek Harley's and long hair, and friends who like sportbikes and short hair, and everything in between. Being a biker is about beng an individual to me, not fitting into some pre made stereotype...
Not another freakin' RUB thread? Just be true to yourself in every aspect of your life. The rest will fall right into place. And to hell with anyone who has a problem with such. And believe me, there will always be someone who has a problem with any individual out there who has their act together or who has accomplished anything in their life. Thisforum is no exception. Ride safe and don't give what others think a second thought. Just do your thing.
No I dont care what people think, i just think Its BS these stereotypes Exist, I love who i am I love my Bike & I love life, If people dont want to be cool w/ me because I ride a Harley w/ a ful face helmet (yes Ive been given S*** about that,) screw em Ill seeem on the road & Ill pass em lol

Meh, ride what you like and wear what you like. Personally, I've got leathers, textile, rain specific gear, DOT and Non-DOT half-helmets, a full-faced helmet and more gloves, goggles and sunglasses than I can count. Every piece of gear I own has its purpose and theydo their job well.
Who cares as long as you are riding? If anyone has a problem, it's their problem, not yours.
Your kidding right, I just turned 19. Right now my main ride is an Ultra Classic. You wouldn't believe the shi*t I get for it, maybe I should trade it in for a Buell so I don't have to listen to it. Of course then I would just get crap for not having a real HD on one side and crap for not having a decent rice rocket from the other.
Its lose lose my friend I almost traded my springer for an ultra because I like to ride long distances, people were giving me S*** saying im old and blah blah it ended up being too expensive, so I didnt do it, im glad I didnt because my bike is awesome!

One of the nice things about getting older for me is I care less and less what folks think of me or what I do. The only peopleâs opinionsI really value are those of my immediate family and those that I ask for input. Even the opinions I ask for I weed out pretty heavily. Unsolicited opinions are so many times from someone who is jealous of what you have or who you are and they are trying to boost their own self-worth at your expense. Do you really care what those kinds of folks think? Donât waist your time and energy. Itâs an easy trap to fall into, I do regularly even on this forum.
