Its with a heavy heart that I provide you with this update on our friend Joe. Joe passed away last night - he never regained conciseness. Joe was a good friend and a great Harley enthusiast. He will be missed. Thank you to all that have expressed their concerns and given their prayers. His family and friends really appreciate it. Ken
A friend of a few of us that call this forum our second home have a friend that went down last week that now needs our prayers. Joe Caruso, a co-worker and friend was riding his brand new (to him) 2006 Ultra last Tuesday when a van decided it needed his lane more than he did. It was such a shock to Joe that he ultimately had to lay his bike down in order to avoid getting run over. He didn't appear to be hurt too bad, but he was taken to the hospital anyway. It turned out he had an irregular heartbeat that required him to stay overnight while they ran more tests. They checked him out and sent him home on Thursday. He asked Frank to stop by and get him a new shift lever so he could bring the bike home from the impound yard. While they were standing there, some idiot backed into the bike with a car and knocked it over. They got the bike home and Joe stayed around the house over the weekend to rest. Last night, I get a call from Frank that Joe, our friend, had suffered a brain aneurysm and was in the hospital and not doing well -- they told his wife he wasn't expected to live. I'm not sure if the incidents are related or not, Joe always wears a helmet. Joe made it through the night, but has no brain activity -- surgery is out of the question as they feel that would just turn him into a vegetable. We need a miracle folks. Please say a prayer for Joe, his family and his friends. He a good guy and needs our help.
