I'm heading out to Vegas next week and my buddy and I might rent some Harleys. Anyone rent in Vegas before. I know there is a Dealer and an EagleRider rental place in town. Any advice?
Nev definitely has a helmet law. Been there many, many times and I've never seen a rider without one.
I've never rented a bike there, but a coworker of mine did. They took it out for a run over Hoover Dam. Said they had a great day. I don't think you can actually ride over the dam anymore since 9/11. Might just be a rumor I heard. He had no trouble with the rental, just said that costs more than it should have.
I rented from the Eaglerider in Vegas...it was actually located at a HD dealer. You do have to wear a helmet in NV....that said...even in non helmet states, you have to take a helmet when you rent....they're attitude is...you are supposed to wear the helmet at all times when you rent from them...but...if we don't see it...wink wink...
Anyway....I had a good experience with Eaglerider in Vegas...and the price wasn't outrageous. Lots of great riding around there too...Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Damn...lake meade...vally of fire.
Enjoy!
Yeah, when I rented in San Antonio we drove a mile down the road and I used a cargo net to strap the helmets to the back. Stopped at the same place on the way back to put them back on. They had to know. I had a sunburn on my forehead.

You can ride across the Hoover Dam. No commercial traffic allowed! Trucks, uhauls, rv's, andanyone towing a trailerare not allowed to cross.

I was there in Mar and we rented from LV HD. The wife and I rode through the Valley of Fire Sate Park and then went to Hoover Dam. There were RV's/Trucks and vehicles with trailers going across. You are better of just parking and walking around. Call ahead for your rentals I stopped in on Sat for a mon rental and I was happy with the selection but several personnel were coming in without reservations and they did not have enough for every person.
