i have an 03 heritage softail. i am thinking about puttin a kicker on her. any thoughts? had one on a 81 fl worked good. bought the the 88' a couple of tears ago. only work that i know of is the cams are a gear set. dont know what kind. wadda think? thanks.

Years ago I kicked my 80 why not kick an 88 with a carb.

The one or two that I've actually looked at seemed a little "aftermarket" if you follow my drift. (They seemed kind of fragile.) There's no real reason to have one IMO. Just install a solenoid switch directly to the starter for addtional back up in case your handlebar switch ever fails.

You can get a simulated kicker that activates the electric start at the bottom of the stroke.

My first non dirt bike was a 64 Pan I kept the Battery hot and it had a Bendix carb so mostly 1 kick I loved it and still miss it and understand the nostalgia but for me no way I am going back to a kicker . just food for thought.
