I don't have one but I think it would be worth the price. That detachable chit is expensive. And its also easy to pop off and walk away with. I bought a set of saddlebags from a guy on Craigslist. When I went to pick them up he asked me if I needed anything else, then he showed me his garage. There were dozens and dozens of detachable items in there, Saddlebags, tour packs, sissy bars, back rests, luggage racks, etc. I cant say for sure that all that stuff was stolen but every single piece of it was quick detach. And the fact that he sold me a set of OEM HD saddle bags and a detachable windshield for $120 makes me think it was hot. Considering the bags and windshield are about $1000 if purchased new.

Did you inform the authorities of your findings? or just purchase your new saddlebags and say thank you.
I have a quick release tour pak but the term quick release means different things to different people.
It's a PITA to "quick" release my tour pak so I don't worry about it getting stolen.
That being said I wouldn't think the locks would hurt.

I bought them and went on my way. I had already paid the guy in cash when he showed me the stuff in the garage. I have no proof that they were stolen, only a suspicion. For all I know he buys and resells the stuff. Probably not but its not my business, and I don't make it a habit to go around sticking my nose in other folks business

Read my reply above. I had no proof, just suspicion. Just like I suspect that anyone with 73000 posts on an internet forum has nothing better to do than sit in front of the laptop all day and shoot their mouth off to people they know nothing about.
I do believe the saying " Locks only keep the honest people out." I am also cheap, so I came up with the idea of using a cable trigger lock for guns. I rarely leave the bike un-attended for very long in public, and so far it has worked for me. If someone wants something bad enough, they will figure out a way to get it. Just loop the cable around the rear latch and the permanent bracket, it will be just enough of a pain, and take too much time to mess with it. Tim
