I pull an old camper trailer with my bike. It is far from modern and still pulls great. I bet any modern trailer would be a pleasure to pull.

Lots of people do. I just bought a 6x12 for the atv, but we intend to use it for the SGS. Reason? Getting sick of slabbing it 700-1000 miles in any direction to get to the good stuff. I look forward to doing clover leaf tours of certain regions. Basically haul to a destination and explore in all directions. Saves wear and tear on the body as well as the bike, which is a factor when you consider the cost of tires and maintenance intervals. Not saying we'll stop doing out and back trips. Just nice to have options. Not to mention we can now toss the bike on the trailer, drive out of the snow and salt, and ride somewhere warmer in the winter.

As far as behind the trike we use our Aluma.
http://www.alumaklm.com/item/51-mctx...e-trailer.html

It's a great trailer and fits our needs and budget.

For hauling the trike, right now we use a cargo trailer but would love to upgrade to an enclosed trailer sometime in the future.

Im looking a trailer too. Ive decided on a 7x14 or 7x16.

AFA the trailer or not trailer thing, we passed a bunch of those "I rode my bike to trailer week" guys on the way home from daytona bike week last year. It was pouring rain after being beautiful all week and the forecast didnt include rain. They were hating life, we was in our captains chairs enjoying a beer bikes clean and dry in the TRAILER.

For a trailer behind the while I'll agree that a Bushtec is the cats meow, for the money it's hard to be an Aluma. Check out Thomas Bus sales in Des Moines. ( don't let the name fool you. They sell a ton of Aluma trailers and ship them)

I have a United 7X16 tandem (a V nose). By moving the wheel chocks forward from their standard position I can get 3 full size touring bikes to fit. I like the 7 ft width as it makes it easier to see behind you a little better, but I'm not too sure I wouldn't buy an 8' the next time. Same width, just the wheel housin is inside the box but gives you more room to maneuver around the bikes.

I work coast to coast for months at a time and if I want it I need to haul it with me, that includes clothing for all the seasons I'll be gone, recreation including bikes, the gear I need in my job.
In the last 12 months I've hauled 2 bikes from Indiana in my 7x14 cargo trailer, hauled a bagger to New Braunfels Tx on a three rail trailer and tomorrow I head to Maryland in a toy hauler since I finally saw the light and realize that I need to be able to be self contained through all seasons I may be out.
Silly comments by those whose lives revolve around a county or two aside from an annual trip must live with a sack over their heads if they think trailer have no place in the cycle world.
I now have three trailer to haul bikes with, probably keep them all. Also probably buy a trailer to tow behind a bike, camper or cargo, still undecided.

Yes they are expensive and whether or not they are worth the cost is certainly up to debate.

I was hauling my bike on my open trailer one summer when I ran through a hail storm.
Fortunately the stones never got very big and I had no damage, but I decided right then I would never "open trailer" again.

When I got back from the trip I started looking around for a trailer.
I had some time before my next over the road trip so I wasn't in too much of a hurry.

I was considering a standard "box" trailer for around $2500 when I came across my 2000 Excalibur..
The seller was in the process of moving out of state in a hurry so I had a little bargaining room.

It being a kind of "one use" type trailer I hesitated on buying it but then the Wife ask "why do we want an enclosed trailer" and my answer was to protect the bike, so she said "then why not buy a trailer designed to haul a bike"?
I bought it that afternoon and due to the seller's urgency I snagged it for $2250.

The modular trailers are lightweight (mine weighs around $700) and pull very well. Also when closed I can put it in my garage when I need too.
I lose about 2 mpg with the Heritage loaded and cruising at 75 mph.

Used modular trailers like mine pop up for sale from time to time.
But they are not on the market long so you have to be prepared to snag it.

Here's a link to one I just found for sale in Pennsylvania.
I don't know what the cost of shipping would be but perhaps it's something to consider.

It's amazing how being married for several decades brings such wisdom.
