I did a search and couldn't come up with a thread like this so I figured I'd post it up.
As I'm looking to buy my first bike, and first Harley, in a month or two I figured I'd like to hear from you guys about which model you ride, and why you ride it.
FLTRU, It's a bit much for my short hops to work and back but considering that I go grocery shopping and run errands on the bike all the time and take lots of road trips it all works out for me.
I have an old Springer Softail (FXSTSB) and a new CVO Sreet Glide (FLHXSE). I just got rid of my Fat Boy Lo. It was a great bike, except for the fact that the lean angle sucked. I scrapped the crap out of that bike riding the local mountains. The Street Glide is much better, especially two up.
Street Glide for longer trips and shorter trips in shitty weather. Or sometimes to just chill.
Street Bob for around town, or shorter trips, or when I feel like getting bugs in my teeth.
There's no right answer for everyone - you're gonna have to get what suits your riding style, needs, and budget. I wouldn't want to do 800 mile days on my Dyna, but on the FLHX it's not a problem at all. But there are guys out there who'll do 800 milers on their Sporties and not even blink. I'm too old for that crap. :-)
