Motor is a 2014 FLHXS with a 2>1 V&H High-Output ProPipe exhaust. Muffler is attached using a rubber grommet like this
While riding, this rubber grommet works its way forward in the mounting hole. Given enough time it works itself forward on the muffler mounting bar completely out of the mount leaving metal on metal that makes a racket going down the road.
Up to now my temporary fix is taking a rubber mallet and piece of wood and driving the rubber grommet back into position. About every week or so.
There has to be a better fix that keeps the rubber grommet from moving. Thought about drilling and tapping a hole in the muffler mounting bar then put a bolt through it to retain the grommet from moving forward. This seems a rather clumsy fix.
