Default Strappin' her down?

So I need to tow my RK Classic and I don't want to scratch the chrome on the highway and crash bars. I bought some heavy duty axle straps made for towing cars but what do I need to put on the actual bars to keep from scratching my chrome?
Thanks

Wrap asoft cloth around the straps at the point where it is touching the chrome.

Better than that, get some of the short "figure 8" straps. They allow you to wrap them around each bar and attach a tie down to them.

Lots of tiedowns. The last 2 times we trailered, my bike fell over. [:@]

I use Big Daddy's Tie Downs.

These are the best tie downs I've bought.

They are made for motorcycles and they have soft sheepskin covered soft ties.

You can probably get away with a pair of them. I use 2 pair because I'm paranoid of my bike falling over.
