Bought a new H-D factory alarm and installed it (along with a Smart Siren II). I got the alarm/siren to work, but when I disarm the alarm and try to start the bike, it cranks, turns for 1-2 seconds, then dies. Again with crank, turns 1-2 seconds, dies. One more time, then nothing. I turned the ignition off, armed the alarm, disarmed it, and tried again...same thing (crank, turn, die x 3).
I took the alarm modual out and put back in the turn signal modual and it runs fine.
Anyone have a clue as to what is wrong? (and yes, I disconnected the battery before f---ing with the electric system--both pos and neg terminals).
Jason, I just went throught he same thing. You have to Marry the ECU to the new TSSM (Alarm Module). There are instructions in the DIY section: https://www.hdforums.com/m_120188/tm.htm When I did it I also had a code tripped because of the swap. There are also good instructionson how to clear that: https://www.hdforums.com/m_43975/tm.htm
It is a VERY easy procedure, follow them and you will be up and running in about 30 minutes.
