In my 46+ years of riding, I still have ONE sting that I'll never forget.
It was in Iowa over 15 years ago, and that little bugger hit me dead center just above the belly button as I was crusin' down the expressway!
I immediately "slapped" my t-shirt where I had been stung to get revenge!
I never saw what type of bee it was but it must have been a hornet.
Like other stings that I'd had, I thought that it would "get better" or that it would "go away" in a few minutes but it seemed to only get worse as time went on.
Thankfully, after 30 minutes or so, the pain did seem to cease a bit and when I pulled my shirt up, I had a huge, red circle I had been stung.
One of the worst "bee" stings that I've ever experienced.
There are some interesting dynamics going on behind the fairing on my Limited.... the air comes from behind. I've had a bee fly over my shoulder at speed & smack into the INSIDE of the fairing... just walked around on the ledge there for a while until I stopped, & flew away.

Years ago my wife and I were a few miles out of town on my old Sporty when I got stung on the neck. Within a half mile things started getting dark and I pulled off on a side road, got off the bike, and layed down in the ditch before I almost passed out. I layed there for a while and finally got up and felt better, but we headed for home just to be on the safe side. When we got home, my wife said, "take off your shirt". I did and my back was covered with hives. She gave me some Benedril and took me to the hospital where they gave me an adrenaline shot and watched me for an hour.
After that I went to an allergist to find out what stung me and what I was allergic to. Found out it was honey bees. I had been stung many times before that day without a problem. I took shots for a while to build up my immunity to bee venum which seems to have helped since I have been stung since and came out OK. I do carry a shot of adrenaline with me in my saddlebags though.
Had one fly right on my neck and sting me in the juggler vein. Bees suck. And yes 3/4 helmets definitely attract then. Got stung on the forehead more then a few times.
I get stung a couple of times usually. After 2 friends (not bikers), had severe allergic reactions, I got a couple of those 'Epi pens'. I keep one in my saddlebag, and the other at my house for emergencies. Both of my friends are over 50 and never had a reaction to being stung before. You never know.
Had one inside my helmet, must of looked like a goof pounding my helmet t try to kill it, few years before that had one go right up my nose, no fun there
Had one land on my shirt sleeve last week and sting me several times through my shirt. Hurt like never before and no place to pull over. Forearm is swollen and itches fierce. Have to coat it with Gold Bond every couple of hours. Never had one hurt like this before.
I've eaten a few...just remember to bite down quick before they can sting, then spit them out (not for full face helmet wearers). Now, my wife rides her own and I remember seeing her dancing around on her Road King like crazy a few years ago and then suddenly pulling off the road with a 2-wheel lock-up. I turned around to catch her peeling off her jacket and helmet while still swatting at the bee that went up her jacket sleeve. She was still hammering it even after it was dead. Her reactions were so fast, I don't think the bee had a chance to sting her. After few more few more bee encounters, she decided to change her wardrobe to included closed cuffs, tighter waistbands and neck closures that can be closed to prevent those little buggers from getting to her...we still have a good laugh about her "bee dance"!
I caught one in my helmet yesterday, it kept trying to sting my ear but couldn't get into the proper position to do so.
I felt a pinch in one place then a slight burn in another place, I finally had to pull over after a few miles.
That sucker was still alive when I took the photo.
