Went for a ride in Bastrop/Buescher State Park on Easter weekend. Day was nice, speed limit is like 25mph. I was wearing a full face, modular helmet with the visor open, but the chin guard down. Mozyin along, just feeling the nice breeze. Then I see this weird black nebulus cloud moving... wtf is that???? Hmmm, looks like we're about to go through it. I kinda tucked my head down and closed my eyes. After all the pelting stopped, I opened my eyes and I had a sh*t ton of honey bees on me. I am TERRIFIED of bees. I was freakin the f*ck out. Most of them just kinda got a little dazed and then flew off, but I had to assist a few. I was paranoid they got into the helmet. I raised the chin guard and just started slapping things. My hubby, the loving, a-hole that he is, waits for me to almost calm down and then says oh sh*t, they're comin back! I crank down on my throttle and was like eff this, I'm outta here!!! Bastard starts laughing at me. Didn't get stung, thankfully. I am allergic to a few things, I don't want to find out if bees are one of them!

Be careful, concentrate on the road...when I was 18 I was driving my full sized 1980 blazer, and got rear-ended by 2 kids on a little 125 while I was stopped waiting for the driver ahead of me turn left. The driver was wearing a 3/4 helmet with glasses, and a bee got between his helmet and face and had stung him in his ear, distracting him long enough that he didn't see me stop. Luckily it was a 25 zone, and so he wasn't going fast, but even so, he had a concussion and a couple broken bones, passenger got away with just bruises.

Full face for me, but open jacket cuffs have my attention after reading this. I that nice cooling air going up my sleeves and out my back vents could carry a little pain!

yup, bees suck that's for sure

if you ever find yourself riding through AZ watch out for these little bastards

doesn't matter if it is open desert or downtown Phoenix, Bark Scorpions are everywhere, and they LOVE garages

was once riding through Deer Valley AZ and noticed one walking on my pant leg

Riding down the freeway the other day legs up on the highway pegs just cruising. I see a swarm of something, bam, hit them. I immediately thought of this thread and sure enough it was a swarm of bees. Luckily I was wearing my full face helmet as I heard at least half a dozen hit my helmet. Unfortunately one flew/blew up my pant leg, then down my boot. Stung me on my calf.

Oh well, that's a risk in riding, could have been worse.

Been stung a bunch of times while riding in the past. So much that I have changed what I wear, and haven't been stung in a long while now. It's either a tight beanie or FF. Neither catches bees. I also wear gauntlet gloves. If I wear a jacket, it's zipped up and collar fastened. The key is buying stuff that fits well so it's not miserable riding like that.

Rode into swarm dressed like that. My brain didn't register what the heck it was until I was on it. It looked like a dark cloud of something or other. I ducked down behind the windshield just in time. Musta taken out hundreds of the little bastards. Pulled over at the next exit to get the stragglers off. What a mess. But no stings.

They suck!!! For some reason they put the boxes close to the road. Never figured that one out? We have one road with about 5 in a 40 mile stretch we call the gauntlet! If I get hit I almost always get stung and need to get something from the doctor to stop the swelling and itching. Roll the dice and ride

I knew a guy who wrecked trying to swat a bee out of his full face helmet, got in between his collar and helmet and stung him, he's allergic so kinda freaked out, got into a patch of gravel and went off at highway speed. Hit a fence so hard he bit the BACK of his tongue, plenty of broken bones, and lucky to be alive.

Just one of those flukey things that he didn't handle all that well. He quit riding after that, sad.

Ok I am going for the biggest laugh with this true story.

Back in the late 80's I was riding my 80 low rider and felt some thing hit me in the throat. The next thing I knew I was being stung under my left nipple, so I grabbed my shirt and tried to smash the bee then pulled my shirt up as far as my helmet would let me and pulled to the shoulder of the road. I took off my helmet and shook out the t-shirt. Put them back on and sat back down on the bike at which time the bee began stinging me in the crack of my ***. I jumped off my bike dropped my drawers, bent over and began smacking myself on the ***. It had to be quite a sight to see for the passing traffic as I am 6'2" at the time weight around 240 had a beard and pony tail, people must have thought that damn biker lost his mind.

Been stung a few more times over the years while riding but nothing as dramatic as that one.

I have a allergic reaction to bees. I carry meds to keep the swelling from getting out of control. Last year I got stung on my arm while in the yard. Took my meds then noticed in had no refills left on my prescription. Called the doctor and had her call in a refill. Riding on the way to the pharmacy to get the new refill a couple days later, get stung on my hand. I hate bees.
