I'm new to HD also and I have it on. I'm going to leave it on.

I've had my glide for 2 years and I've never turned it off.

Yes, it sounds like sh*t at a stop light or when stuck in traffic. I figure that the engineers who designed the engine wouldn't have done this if it didn't help.

the bike must be stopped for a second or two before it comes on. while talking about this with the dealer tech he said the temp. threshhold was something like 84 degrees before it comes in. now that being said i don't know if the engine temp. has to be at a certain temp. also. there is no clear explaintion of the system anywhere. everythings tied together on these new bikes. anyone have any other information on this ?

Just throwing this out there, but at the stop light you are probably the only one that hears the "odd idle". If a tree falls in a forest....

I remember the first and only time mine came on at a traffic light on very hot day. Scared the crap out of me 'cause I forgot I even had it and the engine started sounding like **** and wanting to die. Thought I'd fried my engine or something. Took two lights to finally have it dawn on me what was going on, or should I say off?

i was out yesterday and turned my system on and then kept an eye on the air temp. when the air temp. hit 82 degrees my started coming on. couldn't get it to come on in the morning while the air temp. was cooler. this is the way my system works anyway.

I have it enabled on my bike. I've had the bike stall a couple of times from a dead stop, so I try to remember to blip the throttle to get it out of EITMS mode just before taking off from a dead stop.

I rode a couple hundred miles Sat / Sun. On Saturday I saw from 83-70 degrees on my temp gauge. Even sitting in traffic at 83 degrees, My bike did not go into EITMS mode the entire weekend.

When on it only functions when the bike is at a full stop. It can only benefit the bike or more specifically the rider who complains about heat. What would be gained by not having it on?

Embrace the technology. You paid for it.

There is more than just shutting off the rear cylinder. As the head temp reaches a certain point it will increase the rear cylinder AFR then if that is not enough it will shut it off. Again only when stopped.
