If you live your whole life waiting for what might come, you'll never truly live. If there is a current model you like then go ahead and buy it. I'm betting it will still run just fine when the 2017s come out.

What should I do
Right now I have my mind set on a street Bob. I guess I just want to wait and see if they bring out any new models, or returning models, or if they're upgrading the engine

I say by a used a bike. It's a buyer's market. There are plenty of low mileage bikes in showroom condition that can be had for $10K or less right now.
