Default Speedo visor removal

The PO of my bike put one of those speedo visors on it and I would like to take it off. Any suggestions as to how to take it off without damaging the glass? I assume they are held on by some sort of adhesive so what would be a good way to remove the adhesive remnants after the visor is gone? Its a half moon shaped piece of chrome that covers the top portion of the speedo. Sorry about the pics, they're not the best but if you look close you will see the visor. I also attached a pic of it from the J&P Cycles website for a clear view of what I am talking about.

Looks like you need to take the dash panel up and pull the speedo out to get to it. Seems like it would throw a lot of sun glare up. Maybe if it was a flat black so not as shining.

I had one of those on a prior bike. It was held on by a silicone type substance and didn't appear to be a real adhesive. You should be able to pry it off by hand without damaging anything.

Mine was glued on. Some gentle prying and it popped off
