Except for the day and a half that it took on each of the 120 installs all my trips to the dealer involved a wait of two hours or less. That covers 10 years of dealer experience for me.

I just stop by the dealer, make and appointment and come back when they tell me to. I keep the bike while I am waiting for the appointment, then I am without it for an hour while they work on it.

Glad automakers aren't as slow.
Just curious, what were you having done to the bike and did you have an appointment?

That's right. Dealer techs are busy with regular interval services, warranty work and part installs. This is also the busiest time of the year for prepping new bikes.

Went to my local dealer once on a Saturday, made an appointment for the following Saturday to get a few things done. The service writer guy said they were super busy at the time, & he would quickly make an appointment in the computer & write down on his pad what I wanted done. Once things settled down he'd enter it all into the computer. Fine.

Come back the next Saturday for my appointment. Same guy says he sees I have a slot in the computer, but no work requested. I remind him of the week before, and his pad thing. He says he must have forgotten to enter it in & proceeds to do so.

Then he asks me if I'm sure I want to wait.... it's going to be a while to get to it since the work wasn't scheduled.

Bring it to Florida, the dealerships are very quiet in summer

Depends what you are having done, if you needed something painted you may well wait a while.

Gruene Harley Davidson in New Braunfels. I took my bike in last Saturday without an appointment. I got a call on Tuesday update and parts ordered. I got a call Thursday bike is done. Work so far was new compensator, new rotor, new starter, new stater, fix air leak on in take, replace TBW connector, adjust head bearings. I need to replace the back brake rotor, new brakes and change out the tires. He said bring in your tires and we will put them on for $84.00 and balance and replace the rotor at that time, should take more than a few hours. So far for me seems this dealership is pretty fast and they had a bunch of bikes coming for service last week.

Next time slip him 2 of 'em & he'll probably say, "It'll be ready in a half hour, you might as well wait". lol
