I need to replace the back brake rotor, new brakes and change out the tires. He said bring in your tires and we will put them on for $84.00 and balance and replace the rotor at that time, should take more than a few hours. So far for me seems this dealership is pretty fast and they had a bunch of bikes coming for service last week.
Why in hell does a '12 bike need a new compensator or a new starter????????
The ones on my bike have been there for 22 years and they're still fine!!
Adjust head bearings??? Really???
As for $84 for installing tires you bring in they are about $20 too high.
Unless that's $84 for both that is.

I gotta ask what was wrong with your bike when you took it in??

I'm thinking 2012 was a dud year for HD. Both of our machines are 2012 and I've wracked up a few thousand in maintenance repairs. I'm doing it all myself from here on.

Wife's dyna needs a new starter as well.

3 years ago, I had to have my motor cases re-sealed which involved a complete teardown, obviously.
They took me without an appointment, and had it done & my bike perfect & back to me in 4 days.
I have nothing but praise for my dealership.

I took it in due to lose of charging. I had noticed recently (it is all stock) it started to pop on decel (30K miles) and had not before.

In taking it apart to replace the stater he said he compensator was wearing so they replaced it, and and the rotor (I think that is what it is called that the starter engages) and the starter gear was worn so they replaced the starter. Covered under warranty.

I asked them to check for the head bearings (triple T bearings) and they did and adjusted them. $104.00

84.00 per wheel if I bring in the new rubber. The dealer in Pelham Alabama Riders HD charged $92.00 per wheel to change out the rubber.

The brake rotor I knew was bad, I buggered that up by wearing my rear brake pads down to metal then some. I should have checked them sooner. I had replaced the back pads but not the rotor as the tires were getting thin.

Having them change the wheel cuts down on the cost of the replacing the rotor also. Yes I know a brake rotor isn't a big deal, but they could change it for $20.00 so it was worth it to me than to take the wheel back off when home and change it.

Moving from AL to Texas if they do it then they can also do to the state MC inspection, I wont have to take it back to them. Time to pick it up, go home take off the wheel, change the rotor then ride back up and wait for the inspection, worth the money for them to do it.

I priced out some cheaper places to change the tires, but for the $40.00 in savings for my time to take them off, put them in the car, drive to where ever, bring them back then put them back on the bike, worth the $40.00 to have them do it since they already have the bike for the other repair. They are waiting on me to take them the new tires otherwise I could pick it up.

The decel pop was from a gasket that went bad and was leaking air at the air intake. Covered under warranty also.

So all you had to pay for was adjusting the neck bearings (I assume that's what you mean when you say head bearings (btw that is triple tree not triple T)) the tires, and rotor correct?

The only reason to adjust neck bearings is if your fall away isn't right.
How was your steering??
