High Idle on 2016 models

Like it had said earlier,the EFI Harley has to idle at 950-1,000 rpm.If you want to lower get the older carb bikes.

For those of you that have never heard what a Harley sounds like, This old bike idles down nicely, but dont make a habit of it.

A modern Harley is never going to sound the same as an old dual fire engine. If you want the potato-potato sound you've got to go back a couple of decades.

Funny thing about idle speeds. I have an ironhead, shovel, and an EVO and the FSM for each bike states that the idle must be set to 1,000 rpm.

Also speaking of emissions...catalytic converters in the pipes....when did those start in all Harleys..2010? In some prior years I think they were put in the touring models...but if I recall, all models started in 2010. Dulls the sound out-o-the-pipes.

The 2006 touring models were the first year, with a cat in just the right side pipe. They also had cams with no overlap between intake and exhaust. You couldn't even get up a shallow sloped hill without shifting down.
