Get a load of this,my wife bought a 2015 fatboy in Sept last year, not long after she bought it there was issues with the rear brake pedal, brought it back it and they thought they had fixed it,it still didn't work, didn't matter she rode it any way, front worked fine plus it was getting late in the season.A long story short it turns out there is a recall on the hydraulic unit for the rear pedal, the dealer has had her bike since June 1st but gave her a switchback to ride while hers is in the shop, they called the other day and want it back by Monday, they have it rented out,I guess they didn't think her bike was going to be this long,HD is backed up on parts to fix this issue with a lot of bikes with the same issue, but they don't have another bike to give her to ride until hers is fixed, which they say will be another 7-10 days.So the GM calls us the other day and says she can have his personal bike,a 2016 Breakout, they want us to travel down and make the switch,I think that's pretty good of him to do that,he knows how well we take care of our bikes and knows it will be well taken care of.
When I was GM of the Akron, Ohio Dealership, and later the Sales Manager at the Gastonia, Nc store, I got a free demo bike to use as my own for 6 months at a time.
It's a very nice gesture from your Dealers GM, but it's also just good customer service too lending you a Dealership insured motorcycle. I'm quite certain that's what you got. (When I did things like that, I took used bikes home until "my" demo unit came back.)
It sounds like he is doing his best to make the best of a bad situation. Still, I bet your wife can't wait to get her own bike back. I hope it's within the week as projected.
That is above and beyond. It's a win-win for everyone involved. Your wife got a bike to use while hers is down and the dealership got a bonus point and good (free) advertising. Good to hear amid all the bashings other people do to the "stealership".
Great to hear. You should post this in the good dealerships sticky for others to see.
