Default Loose compensator .

Can somebody tell me why I read about so many cases of loose compensators on Evo and Twinkie motors? Do people not know how to tighten them properly? Is the factory not installing them cprrectly, bad torque spec, what? In 36 years I never had the nut on my Shovelhead come loose. I'd just tighten it up by hand and then a couple of quick zips with the impact gun and it never budged.

Since the new bolts from the dealer already have loctite loaded I'm guessing it's probably from people reusing the bolt, not applying locktite, or not adhearing to the torque and retorque specs.

The bolt is supposed to be a one time use item. I reused mine and it took a couple years to loosen up. I retightened it and bought a new one. I'll install the new one when it comes loose again.
