Year end closeouts at Cycle Gear are a good deal.

It's amazing how much money you save when you google the part# and purchase online vs in store.

So, something with the HD logo on it is more expensive? I, for one, am SHOCKED!

I bought a half helmet with the logos at Harley. Found out it was an HJC and cost less in HJC. I don't like it with the alien marshmallow head look. The picture still used on the Harley site for the helmet shows a low profile look on a guy and the helmet is appealing. Next I bought a modular HJC CS2 on ebay. Fits great and I will use it in cooler weather. I live in a helmet state. I also just made the purchase of a Akoury AK-1 just to get away from the martian look. I know, don't tell me. You can go through helmets and will collect a good number of them I have another 4 but I always push friends to wear a DOT helmet.

I rarely 100% rely on information a salesperson gives me. Most of the time they're either uninformed, or misinformed, and sometimes they just flat out lie.

One of my neighbors is a parts manager at a large GM dealership. He told me that when a customer asks for a 10-20% discount, he usually gives it to them. He figures that if he doesn't, then they may go online or go to the next town and get the part at another dealer for 20% off. As you stated, he rather sell the part and make less profit than to not sell it at all.
Many Harley dealership parts personnel get a salary plus 1-3% commission on parts they sell. So they certainly don't want to give any discounts.
