Epic rant??? Perhaps I have a different understanding as to what epic means. Complaining about the wind on a motorcycle is priceless. You should drive a car if it bothers you that much.
I asked the dealer about the hesitation at starting and they just told me to keep it one the tender. Sometimes this 103 just starts hard. And I don't mean turning over multiple times. Sometimes it just really hesitates.
A smaller battery would just seem bad to me. Hell I want one with more snot if anything.
Smaller doesn't have to mean 'less powerful', dude.
Man, that mounting kit looks a mess - gaps everywhere - La Rosa?
(Sorry, no offence intended!)
Mother road customs. I figured when I have ROUGHLY 1500 bucks laying around .... I will get this local leather shop to make matching seat (re-upholster) , fender bib, tank bib, crotch cooler, ecm cover and cover over the seatpan and all gaps from the same leather stock...
I can say, I dont like it either, but My ****, posture loves it. I dont like some of the clean looking seat pans I seen on here... looks to plastic/chinsy for my taste. I estimate 2 inch more leg room. could be more. I'm not tall.. 5'9".... I have room to move around now.
If you keep the slim, look at long ride shields recurve windshields. You can also look at some of the Memphis Shades windshields, particularly their taller ones.
Still, you stated you are 6'2". The Slim is a small bike. It is so small that it is popular with women, beginners, and small people.
You need to test ride a Heritage and a Road King.
Buying a bike based solely on appearance is never good outcome, especially once the novelty of a new bike wears off. Quite frankly, I am surprised you liked the Sportster.
The Slim is hardly a small bike. It's actually very similar to the Heritage. They both have the same wheelbase, both have the FL front end and front tires. The only real differences are the windshield, front fender, saddlebags, back rest, and passenger pegs. None of which effect the size of the Heritage. The Heritage weighs more because of the added accessories. The Slim can be made into a Heritage.
Even the Road King isn't that much larger. I've read that for some the RK feels more cramped compared to the Heritage. I've ridden both and the Heritage feels lighter but not smaller.
Car, motorcycle with huge obnoxious fairings, same thing
Not even close. Bags and fairing are all quick release. Ready to tour or ready for cruising, all in a few minutes. It's called versatility. I don't expect you to understand, as you are clearly more suited for a car.
