My favorite Volvo addition is the heartbeat sensor. Have anyone seen these commercials. Lady walking to her car at night and looks down at her car remote which beeps signalling that there is someone in her car. She turns around and walks away.
I understand women wanting a peace of mind, but how often does the bad guy wait in the car? Isn't he going to jump you for the keys at or around your car?
My reactions to the Volvo proximity radars are about the same as Buddha's. They show speeding, dangerous or self-absorbed cage drivers who now have another reason to become even less safer. When the radar fails, will they be suing Volvo for failure to keep their lazy-butt, dangerouslifestyle as comfy as they expected it to be?
Will the radar save some lives... but cost some otherlives because of drivers overall attitude about personal responsibility getting worse??
ORIGINAL: Buddha4
That and the other commercial's where two Yuppies are racing to get to a dinner@1am and almost run into acargo truck
OR that lady driving an a subdivsion and looks at towards the passenger seat and the sensor tells her that she's going to hit the vehicle in front of her. (good thing it was a car instead a a kid on a bike)
At some point the technology will do all the driving for us I swear. Technology is good, but not to the point of becoming a worse driving by not checking your blindspot!
thats the problem with some of the new technology. it tries to take some of the commen sense out of the driving. if you're to lazy to look into your blindspot, can't parallel park, maybe you should learn how, instead of expecting a car to do it for you.can't wait to see the lawsuits over this one. "officer, i changed lanes and ran over this motorcyclist cause my volvo didn't beep loud enough cause my music was up to high."
