The real surprise was the 2015 attendance. Some forecasts approached 1M...yet only measured 500k. i guess many people stayed away to avoid the anticipated crowds.

I saw in a few places while I was there the week before the rally where they estimate for last year was 750,000+. I have no idea where they got those numbers. seems I saw something more like 500,000 plus last year a few weeks after the rally.
I'll go next year if the crowds are within reason. The millenials will apparently want a large wooden structure to burn and Skrillex rather than Kid Rock.
I've been fortunate to have seen the 50th and the 75th with about 8 others between them and 2015 was by far the most crowded.
The way bikes flood into/ out of that little town from all directions, I don't know how they could possible be accurate with their numbers.
