A good chock is worth any amount of straps. I use Condor and light duty straps just to keep the bike from rocking, 2 around the front highway pegs and 2 around the rear tourpak mounts. On bikes without the tourpaks, I use the rear passenger pegs. Without a chock, I would probably install strap mounts onto the frame and secure the bike more securely. As I said, a decent chock is a life saver.

I used the Ancra soft straps like the picture above to protect the paint/chrome and then use the adjustable ratcheting type straps. With the racheting straps you can snug the bike down with ease. I keep 4 of each of them on the bike at all times. (most tow trucks don't have the correct straps)

I got a set of the Chrome tie down brackets for Christmas to tie the front of the bike down with.
On the Ultra Limiteds, you have to be careful with the brake lines running near the fork legs.

These look nice and are not in the way. Here is the link.

Some use *Canyon dancers, but they cause stress on the handlebar ends. Ancra tie downs are good. I have a bunch of HarleyD tiedowns that were used to transport bikes from MoCo to a dealership on pallets.

Thanks for this link. I just ordered 4 sets. Been looking to replace my old ones. These are mucho better!

For ties downs I use the heavy duty trucker yellow ones.

Thanks much. I think I'll go with ratchet straps and soft straps.
