Seriously? Like there's any Harley rider who can spell?

Honestly, I think you'd regret it. Just my two cents.

i think you're asking for trouble. i been riding for 20 plus years, ive covered all the lower 48 and some of Canada.

ive had occassion to interact with a number of patched riders and know full well i am a citizen so i afford them much respect.

your idea, impeads upon that respect plus it just does not make real sense.

if it was a more obvious reference, i.e. the sons of arthritis or more light hearted, you might get a pass, but your chosen design and its somewhat vague and obscure reference could generate more than moderate interest which you do not want.

if you really have to have that design, i would suggest a small non back piece version or a tattoo somewhere that's covered.

my opinion.

Those saying its a bad idea and "you will get ridiculed, or in trouble"...You're kidding right? Have you ever been to any bike rallies?? There are vests and non MC patches for as far as the eye can see.

Welcome to the forum, and ride safe.

"Bite Me Fanboy" would not be something I would want to be wearing while riding around. It could result in you having to ride behind a new "friend".

I vote you rock the f$%k out of that patch and if anyone has the ***** to say something to you, simply scream " MERICA" and punch them in the face!

In all seriousness.

My co-worker is a big Akira fan and has a big pill sticker on his bike, I told him no one would get the reference and everyone would think he was a pillhead junky or something. He insisted it was from Akira and everyone would understand.... no one gets it and now everyone thinks he really likes pills. Moral of the story? No one will understand the reference and you will wind up getting yourself into trouble.

If you really grew up around the red and gold then you know the answer, you are either about that life or you're not, don't pretend to be.

A little back story on me: when I was a kid my mom dated a few guys in the Banditos out of Ft Worth and bar tended at a place called Blueberry Hill. For years I grew up in the culture, went on runs, got into some bad **** (selling guns / drugs / etc), but I left it all behind about 15 years ago, totally turned my life around, moved to cali and am now a graphic designer / illustrator.
About 5 years ago I started riding again. Found a nice sporty 883 bored out to 1200 and I'm happier now than I have been in many many years.

Anyway, I've got a question for the forums... now, I know pretty much all the ins and outs of patches from growing up in the banditos, but this is a bit beyond my realm of knowledge.
I'm a comic book fan and one of my favorite comic characters is Lobo. I wanted to basically do a straight up rip-off of his back patches:

I know that pretty much any bottom rocker is gonna catch me some flack, but then again it doesn't state a location and is also a comic book reference....

so there ya go. thats my question. would this be a bad idea?

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I don't see any problem, but you might end up in a couple of shots in the head from posers who think they're being called posers. Why not just put a happy-face on there and be done with it?

FWIW;
As said, most folks won't get it. I think if you went full size 3 piece you'll catch some grief.
If you could get the full "logo" downsized to a 6x6 or so it wouldn't dominate the jacket/vest in a manner that replicates a 3 piece.
Check ebay for custom patch makers at a reasonable cost,, but stay away from the 12" rocker size.
