See you learn something every day. When I read the OP's first post, I had no idea what the hell he was taking about other than the art work I saw on the screen. Since I have almost unlimited time to goof off, I did a little research on "Lobo" the term "Fanboy" and DC Comics. The creation and utilization of the term "Fanboy" was the most interesting even for an amateur etymologist such as myself.

Still, if I had to vote, I'd choose the Green Mamba.

Do whatever makes you happy and comfortable. Life is way too short to stress either way.

I'm sure that MC club guys are smart enough to know that the patch isn't some other MC trying to pinch their club. I'm also sure they would recognize the guy is no threat. Finally I bet they have WAY more things to worry about and to do than to pester someone about a home-made fabric on his jacket. My guess is that someone might ask whet the hell the patch meant. In my experience if someone wants to screw with you they are going to find an reason to screw with you; it doesn't matter too much what you do or don't do. I'm getting older; I am neither a hero or *****, I'm going to do what I damn well please without bothering anyone else. I'm not going to cause a problem, but I'm not afraid of anything walking the earth. I rarely find folks that have a problem with that.

I think I'm going to trust my instincts here and just not get the patch. If anything I'll just do something totally custom with no type.
I did this design recently and thought it might make a badass patch:

This is cool....a snake eating itself into infinity.
Don't know what it means, but it's cool....lol

That's pretty cool stuff. I work in a world where we cannot perform certain acts in either fact or appearance. Appearance is something that some thick necked guys wouldn't abide an explanation. I'd steer clear of anything like that. The snake doesn't seem to be a problem, unless you turn it 90 degrees and put a 1 next to it :-)

oh, and FlamedFXR, seriously man... I'm not trying to talk all big dude. I'm a graphic designer. like i said in my original post, my mom dated and bartended for these dudes. I did my homework in the back of the bar and played darts with the guys when i was done. It was my job to feed the dogs that protected the garage and keep the bonfire going when we sat around and bullshitted at night. I rode in the truck with my mom on runs, we kept ******* drivers off of everyones rear ends.
I dont even consider myself a biker as I've only really been riding for the last 5 years. Does that sound like someone who is bragging?
I signed up to this community hoping to possibly make some friends, meet some local riders, maybe even do some design/illustration work for some helmets, etc. I didn't sign up to this community to get into internet arguments over stupid bullshit that doesn't matter. i got nothing to prove to you homie. believe what you want.

Welcome. I don't know anything about MCs. But arguing about stupid bullshit is a big part of what we do here. We also give lifesaving advice, solve mechanical problems, support people in crisis. In short we're like a big, dysfunctional, loving family. Don't be thin skinned. You can learn a lot here.

I've been a 1% patch holder here in Texas for 15 years and around the club all my life and I've seen alot of stupid chit in my years on the road.
I can tell you that I would care less if I saw you wearing that patch. Would I laugh at you?... yep. But so what? You are your own person, wear what you want.

Got me to thinking sideways. I think I would really like one of these patches.

google search "smiley face bullet hole patch"

Go for it. With all the SOA, poser, etc., crap out there, too much is made out of patches now days. Very few will get your reference - nobody that I now of... I can't imagine it would **** anyone off. Some will laugh with you, most at you. Then its up to you how its handled.

My opinion is that as long as its not a Three peice patch and does not say 1% or MC you will probably be all right. Some of the bigger clubs take that stuff very seriously.
