Here is the information and installation I did on it. Notice how the terminals are made much better than conventional terminals.

Quick Google search will yield lots of examples of fried bikes using lithium batteries (non cell phones). I also checked with my two friends who both assured me they were not running cell phone batteries. http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=89571.0

Yuasa is a dang good battery....and it's made in PA (contrary to what the name suggests). You shoulda got dang near 5 years if not more outta that.
Year 'n a half...may wanna see if somethings causing a constant drain...else you'll just be going through various other brands and having bad luck with 'em.

I also like Big Crank, made by Dekka/East Penn...who also makes the OEM batts for Harley. Cept the Big Crank is a notch better than the base model they make for Harley. And a heck-uv-a-lot-cheaper.

I put the battery tender on as soon as I got home from work, and after a couple hours I gave it a try and she fired right up.

You're right. It shouldn't be that way. Before I buy a battery, I'll run the checks on the charging system.

And coincidentally, my multi-meter needs a battery! It's always something!

Thanks for advice

Don't be all creamed up about CCA. That is how much power your battery can deliver instantaneously. Look at AH capacity.

I got 7 years out of my last battery.
It was a gel battery from batteries plus.

I run DEKA batteries in the Shovel. I'm only 5 miles from the plant and can pick up "seconds" at their store for a steal. The one in my bike now is on it's seventh year and has never seen a trickle charger.

I put a Yuasa GYZ20HL battery in Reaper at the beginning of the season, along with Sumax 2 gauge cables. So far, so good. She cranks over easily, and reliably.

Cheers!

I bought a Mighty Max battery for my RK, cost was about $75.
Direct from the factory, made in the USA.
Sorry, I can't give a history, I have not installed it yet.
