I run Deka batteries in every vehicle I own, my wife's van, my pickup, both bikes and the Kenworth.
They are in my honest opinion, the best batteries on the market.

Harley doesn't make batteries....You're running a Deka. (They make the Harley branded batteries)

Can someone explain the difference between the Big Crank and the Mega Crank?

@ Mike...haven't had to buy a battery in a long time. I'll say this, I have a Husqvarna zero turn in the shed I slapped an Interstate in 4 years ago that cranks everytime. I had to replace the FB's battery 6-7 years back and I slapped the same in. The Deluxe battery goes bad, think I'll do the same.

I just bought a new Moco battery last week for my dyna. The reviews on the HD website were hit and miss. Hope I get lucky!

As it turns out, the battery I put in last year was a Big Crank. I musta thought the Yuasa I bought was for this bike. Probably for the Sportster. Anyway, I'm still chasing this problem. I thought it was solved, but not so.

After leaving it on a tender all that night, cleaning the posts and cables, all seemed well last week. This week after sitting over the weekend, no start on Monday morning. Plugged it back onto the tender and it fired right up after work. After unplugging it and sitting all night, no fire Tuesday morning. Plugged the tender back in for the day, and she fired right up after work. Left it on the tender overnight, and no fire this morning.

The worst kind of problem to chase is an intermittent one. Hope you get it figured out soon.

Cheers!

My bike has constant parasitic drain due to the security system. Regardless of battery, keep your bike on a Battery Tender.

Big Crank, Deka, Yuasa, whichever I can get cheapest at the time. I don't worry about the battery the way I used to, carry a lithium jumper with me to replace the missing kickstarter (mostly useless on efi, but wish they'd kept them on carb bikes!). Made a 10awg pigtail for my battery tender and an adapter cable that plugs into the jumper battery so it's easy to plug in, don't like disassembling the bike to reach the battery or starter - that depends on your Harley model, of course, some are easy, mine aren't.

Mike,

Check out your ignition switch. Mine was killing my battery several years ago.

Oh, you really need to get the app for that. It's nice in the winter because my bike is nice and toasty warm in the winter when I get on after finishing my breakfast.
