If you get a weekend off that should be enough time to do a head gasket wouldn't it, however if you don't think you had better mess with it till Christmas then ride it easy, and welcome to the Forum from central Texas.

Is there any specialty tools I'll need to replace the gasket?

I just had the same problem with the same symptom. I had a head gasket lying around and replaced it without replacing the other gaskets. I reused them all with no leaks. If they did leak they would be easy enough to change later. It took me about 8 hours without busting my ***. No special tools. Good luck.

you ride it long enough like this and it will cut a groove in the head. happened to a friend of mine and had to have the head welded and machined down.

The best tool you can buy for your Harley is the Harley Davidson Service Manual. You can get a torque wrench cheap at Harbor Freight. Cometic makes good gaskets, if you don't want to use HD parts.

I think you might need a set of torque adapters to torque some of the bolts.
