I'm not aware of other companies that give a 4 year warranty. BMW and Honda are 3, Suzuki is 2.
I took the 4 year extended warranty as well as the tire and rim package. Used the tire warranty once last year when I got a flat on the road. Dealer came with a trailer & picked up my bike, took it back to the dealership and replaced the tire. Cost me $50.00 and I was back on the road in 2 1/2 hrs from the time I got the flat.

I guess I am one of the lucky guys that did not buy the extended warranty, and did not need it.

Right there with ya. I've never bought any extended warranty, on any item and have never needed one.

The best warranty that I know of on a new bike is Honda's Goldwing. 3years unlimited mileage.

I bought my crossbones used it was 4 years old and had 3,400 miles on it.

I got the 5 year extended warranty tire and wheel.
It just rolled 70,000 miles i've saved over 3 grand now just in parts and tires not counting labor........ I haven't totaled it up in a while over 2500 in parts and 6 tires (3 in a month) last time i added up the tickets.

The extended warranty is for a bike your going to rack miles up on.
If you put 3k miles a year on it's a suckers buy.

Does anyone have experience with Corner Stone Extended warranty plans. My factory warranty is expiring soon and the ESP from Harley is very expensive. I was quoted $3079 out the door from the dealer. The Corner Stone is $1732. They cover everything that the manufacture warranty covers.

Some think these "extended warranties" start when the factory warranty matures. It starts the day you bought the extended warranty.

Correct.

And a main part of the problem is the fact that so many people keep calling them extended "warranties", which implies that the "warranty" is extended, instead of calling them the correct name, which is "Extended Service Plan".

And it starts the day you buy the bike/ESP, and runs concurrently with the new bike warranty.

Is the extended service plan worth it? Only if you use it. And I've certainly used mine. I've got about 15k on a 2015 CVO RGU. It gets ridden nearly every day usually back and forth to work and occasionally longer trips. Not a lot of miles really but consistent use.
On earlier episodes of as the Wheel Turns-A round of cooling issues: 3 ECMs, Coolant Temp Sensor, Engine Wiring Harness, Coolant Temp Sensor wiring leg of the wiring harness, Shift linkage spline shaft, Left hand control module (Chrome Delamination on lever) and now. . .A Left hand control module for a series of fault codes culminating in a complete shutdown of all electrical functions except engine management. I'd guess I'm north of $8k in parts and labor. I'm seriously exploring trading this pig.

3. The H-D two year factory warranty is "unlimited mileage". That's important if you don't own a garage queen.

4. The Extended Service Plan covers MORE than the factory warranty. That's why it runs concurrently with the factory warranty. It covers Rental Reimbursement, Pickup Reimbursement, and Travel & Lodging Reimbursement.

5. For example, the 5 year ESP ends 5 years from the day it goes in service, not 7 years from the day the bike goes in service. So, you're getting all of the extras in #4 above added to the 2 years of the original factory warranty.

As has been mentioned, unless you do real mileage, it's probably not worth it. Even if you do a lot of riding, you're still betting/gambling on whether or not something breaks. I put 25,000 miles on my RGS in the first 14 months I've owned it, I'll probably break 50k by the end of next year, and I fully intend to keep it at least 4 years, so it made sense for me to pop for the 5 year ESP.

As always, ymmv.
They must have changed the ESP. I bought a 5 year ESP when I bought Reaper, in 2005, and it kicked in AFTER the 2 year original warranty expired. I got a total of 7 years of warranty, and for me it paid off, as Reaper had a bad habit of blowing up starter clutches! Not to mention, that as a result of buying the ESP, my interest rate was lowered on my financing, and the amount of interest I saved paid for the ESP, so it was essentially free to begin with.

Cheers!
