Was driving in my car last week and there was a story on the news about 17 members of a motorcycle gang called the PECKERWOODS that were busted for drug and gun trafficking. They were rounded up in Lakeside, Santee and El Cajon, CA.
Obviously these are bad dudes but,you would think they could come up with a better name for their club than the PECKERWOODS?
I could justimagine a bunch of guys sittin in a bar somewhere and a couple of these guys pull in and someone says "hey, here comes a couple of PECKERWOODS"! Now how in the hell are you not gonna laugh at that? And of course they will be offended and want to shoot somebody. I don't get it.
It used to be a white slang for racially motivated skinheads in southern California...its moved on to different meaning now I guess..drugs and prison and whatever else most likely because of meth..
