In many places once a vehicle has crashed on a public road bubba and his friend can't recover it. because of creating more accidents licensed two service are generally required. Every time we pull some one out of a ditch in the snow here ,if the chose to push we are breaking the law.
i did submit the bill to the insurance and they did end up paying it. my sons and brothers went and got the bike at 9 am the next day and had to drag it on and off of the trailer and into my garage. no big deal. i don't care if the damn thing was up in a tree, $630 is taking advantage of the ordeal. i'm letting it go before i get myself pissed off again about it.
I must be missing something. The insurance company reimbursed you the $630 tow bill, nobody is out anything, and you and your family survived the ordeal. Two years later, and you're still ready to go down to the towing company, trash the place and bust some heads.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you need to see someone to resolve your anger issues.

Be safe, and keep smiling!
you are right ! it's just that when someone screws me over i'll never forget it. that's just the way i am. i'm turning my back to it now and forgetting about it unless the oppertunity arises to even things up.
the tow and storage fee cost more than the car was worth and then the A-holes wouldn't even let him retrieve his personal belongings from the car.
A few years ago, I bought a POS old car for my daughter to drive. Of course, the very next day she put it into a telephone pole. Wasn't hurt, which was a blessing, but it was towed to the city impound.
The next day (two days after I originally bought it) I go down to the impound lot. I had planned on getting the title transferred and registered that day, so all the sale paperwork was still in the car. Yes, that was a mistake on my part, because without that paperwork, they wouldn't let me have access to the car.
my son was in an accident and they towed his car and within the 45 mins. and 5 miles they had it , it was stripped of all the ws6 emblems and wheel centers along with the firebird valve caps he had on it. the tow industy needs a revamping here in st.louis. they have caught a couple tow services that was in with the cops here before, not nothng new here.

Search shows St Louis PD was involved in a towing scandal about 6-8 years ago. All involved convicted. Do you know of something more recent?
Apparently officers were driving impounded vehicles for personal use. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/s...27992bc8b.html
they were driving and selling the impounded vehicles to relatives. the cops were in cohoots with the tow companies. been going on for years here. that state trooper told my brother that the police dept. got a kick back for the tows. just telling you what he said.
