maybe i'll just go down and break ll the windows out of the building or better yet give him a good beating with a bat. i'm getting back one way or the other.
That's the spirit! Start with a get back whip and go from there
well i hit a deer or i should say a deer hit me ands sent me into a street sign removing my left leg at the knee. the state trooper at the sceen told my youngest brother that they (the police dept.) recieve a cut of the tow. didn't make this up , the trooper said this. the tow truck guy was a ******* the way he was talking to people. myself and four others would like to give a beat down to this guy and after over two years he would have no idea where it came from. this entire deal was f--ked up from the start. the tow guy took full advantage of everyone there and the next day. should have just let him keep the bike , but i wanted some parts off it before the insurance company got it. sorry to go off the deep end , but the more i brood on this the more pissed i become. a good punch to the forehead of the tow guy woulkd make me feel much better. and he may get it. oh ! i am riding again.
So not only are you threating physical violence in writing you also confirmed you committed insurance fraud by removing parts from the motorcycle before the insurance company got it so I assume you had already settled financially and took parts off their bike. You sound like a stand up guy.
I would guess that local police departments, especially in and around St. Louis recently, would not have some rip off kick back system set up with their rotation tow truck companies. But if you want to blame the inflated price on the police who responded to your crash when you needed help, then by all means go ahead.
I hope you don't come across the old bill that the rescue squad charged your insurance company. I suspect if that was over $100 you will be looking to kick some EMT ***.
it's hard to let this go. maybe i'll just go down and break ll the windows out of the building or better yet give him a good beating with a bat. i'm getting back one way or the other.

Yeah, go down there abd break the windows out. Better yet go down there with a bat and do as you say you want to do. See how far that gets you....ultimately a conviction for ADW and about a dime in the slam. That will sure make your wife feel better.
Oh and because your brother told you so I am sure the cops are in on it
I manage commercial properties and the towing company I use charges $100.00 to tow off the property to their storage lot.
That being said - 2 yrs ago, let it go....

I'm not sure how you heard the way the tow driver was talking to people. You were in the hospital receiving emergency surgery for your amputation when your bike was towed.
And since you were not present when your motorcycle was towed, LEO's impound it under what is known as a "driver incapacitation" authority.
And your brother may have heard the trooper say they receive a cut of the tow. But the comment was probably taken out of context. What the trooper was actually saying is the state, city and/or state receive an administrative fee when the motorcycle is released from impound. That fee (or cut) is paid at the police station or highway patrol office when the owner (or their representative) arrives to obtain a release of the vehicle from impound. That release form is then taken to the tow yard when the owner retrieves the vehicle.
In Ca, those administrative impound release fees run about $150.
Good luck on your recovery and rehabilitation. IMO, $600 is nothing compared to the loss of your limb. Let your frustration go.
I, for one, understand your grudge. When you get screwed semi-legally and can't do anything about it because a lawyer would just screw you again......yep, I understand.
Something very similar happened to my brother-----the tow and storage fee cost more than the car was worth and then the A-holes wouldn't even let him retrieve his personal belongings from the car.
Predators everywhere!
It's a free for all here in Houston... Single car accident will have between 8-14 tow trucks waiting on the chance to tow.
Those folks scamming houstonians on the "Free and Clear" program got busted for felony criminal charges as well as the city councelman that hired them (although he was not charged).
Bikes cost a lot more than cars. One reason is claims filed. Claiming tow damage and also bit harder than just winch it on and go.
$450 4 years ago 24 miles round trip then 60 round trip to take it o HD dealer. Insurance covered it all . I did call the next day to have them take it to HD. At first they refused until they were paid. HD dealer called told to get the dam bike there and they would take care of it.
As for LEO. I was strapped to a board my gun was near laying on the ground I could do nothing about. The LEO said I talk with you latter you are kind of busy. I ask him to give the weapon to my wife or daughter. He took care of it with out any issues. Bike was totaled anyway but I though this was interesting .
I was preoccupied with EMT's at the time so had nothing to say about the tow.
Notice shop rag on hooks.
