How is someone suppose to protect their ears from wind and noise and still listen to music and use intercom? I recently started using foam plugs because I starting getting mild tinnitus but always liked the idea of using intercom to talk to passenger.

Ear plugs actually make hearing an intercom unit much easier. Blocks the wind noise but the speakers are so close the sound doesn't get blocked. At least not as much as far as your ears are concerned. The wind noise just washes everything else away.

Awesome. That's the same experience I have when I have music playing through my fairing speakers while using foam ear protection. Good to know. Thank you.
I also went with a Schurbeth C3 Pro, had a Nolan N-43, once I started using the C3 I really liked it I also purchased a M1, dependant on the time of year and weather on which one I'll use. Both were fitted with the J&M headsets.
My current lid is a HJC CS14 and it too has gone unbearably noisy after 2 years, even with ear plugs it makes riding a bit unenjoyable I have a C3 Basic in my watch list in eBay but haven't got around to buying it yet.
I've been using a Bell RS-1 for about 3 years, quite fits good, has room for the sena 20...Also have a Shoei GT air, also quite, flows good air for summer riding has room for the sena but over time the weight get to be a little much....Using the Bell most of the time...Oh the Bell also has a auto tint shield which is tops!!!!The Schuberth is top the line for those heads it fits, good luck with it!!!
I have two (2) SR1s and a C3 Pro for myself and the wife. I'm not one to listen to music/radio/talk while commuting-watching out for the cagers/drunks/distracted drivers takes ALL of my attention, but there are no finer helmets on the market. Always buy a little tight, they mold to your face and head after a few wearings (especially the SR1's with their "race fit").
Honestly right now it is super tight. They said it should be for while it breaks in. Tighter than I normally would buy actually. So here is hoping!!
Something they told me about after I bought it is that if you crash and send the police report to Schuberth they will sell you another one for 1/3 the price!!! That's pretty legit right there.
Also, I told them I wanted one but there was no way in hell I was going to pay 770 bucks for a helmet. Asked them to drop it to 690 and they did. So that is something.
You can get a Schuberth C3 Pro (dark classic) from Revzilla right now for $559. They are having a closeout due to the new C4 being released....

That is so true...counter-intuitive, but true! I can hear my music through the fairing speakers so much more clearly if I am wearing foam earplugs. It works at concerts too...makes the music sound much clearer (and saves you from further hearing loss).
