If you didn't pay any setup and doc fees you did well. You should trade in every month, pretty soon they will be paying you to take the bikes . Ride safe.

Only 2 reasons someone would trade in an '017 (assuming they can still make the payments)...they didn't like it, for whatever reason,or there was a major issue that couldn't be addressed.
I would be very afraid to buy a almost new, lo mile bike. Something ain't kosherooni in Denmark.

Bikes today are also more complex and computerized than they used to be. The complexity brings a certain intimidation factor with it in addition to increased cost. For example, you might have to buy a programmer for a few hundred dollars to adjust the air fuel mixture whereas on older bikes you might need to buy a two dollar screw driver to adjust the carburetor. That programmer may get locked to one particular bike whereas that screwdriver can be used on many bikes.

It's great when this happens, but it's not often the case. When I sold Harleys my sales manager always charged freight. He would sometimes waive prep and doc fees for repeat customers. We never threw in goodies, but most deals included a gift card for in-store purchases.

Seems no one wanted to talk about a 'reasonable' price on a 'used' 16 bike, let alone a '17 so the new '16 one went home with me. A couple used SGS bikes were 500 milers to 2200 milers. They're holding prices up.

At the time I traded, no one had any used '17s in, even though I didn't want one. Even my dealer where I had traded with 6 times since '13, couldn't give me a reasonable price on a used '16.
I even priced a new '17. 'Bout had to laugh in his face..........
Must be location. My dealer here in Davenport has a new '16 RG CVO they are advertising it at 5k under MSRP, which is a pretty good indication that they will even go lower. It's a two-tone charcoal gray, and drop dead gorgeous. I really can't believe it's still sitting there.
