Default Missed out on a good deal I think...

Well I've been in the market for a Breakout and for the most part locally haven't had much luck till the past week.

First, came upon a Big Blue Pearl 13' with V&H BR's/AC/SERT/Z-Handlebars with 45xx miles asking $15,000. Went to check it out Saturday, looked good and ran good. Then Monday came across a Superior Blue 15' with Cobras version of BR's/Stage 1 AC and tune. This one only had 391 miles and they were asking $14,995. This one at a dealership.

Went yesterday to look at it and someone else happened to be looking at it as well. Offered a good down-payment and asked how much he could help on taxes. Said he could go $14,500. I said I would think on it over night and have a answer by today.

So I decided to go for it and had my checkbook with me and came into work early to get over there later this afternoon. Decided to check the website and the bike is off the site...I call them up and sure enough they sold it after I left last night to the other guy looking at it....

I really was planning on waiting another month or so to make a purchase but really liked that bike, especially with that low of miles. Part of me says it just wasn't meant to be and its for the better, the other part of me is pissed that I missed out on it. Regardless, my search continues...

So there's my rant/venting for the day. Carry on...

There's always another deal that will come your way. Probably better than the one you missed out on.

Yeah, I've really only been seriously looking for a few months now. Now that the initial emotions are gone, it really probably was for the better. I'm still 2 months out from having my car paid off. This purchase would've made things a little tight for those months. I just gotta be patient in this search, just like you said. Unfortunately patience is a virtue I'm unfamiliar with.

I actually found the exact bike I would like to get a few weeks ago. Was watching a Red '13 down in Florida on ebay for a long while. Was the exact bike I am after. My favorite color, the black V&H BR's, and a few other mods. But it sold about a month ago. It would've been a great starting point to the end bike I'm after once I "make it mine" with upgrades. Really hoping to eventually find a red one, blue is my second favorite and my current bikes color.

I always say to myself when I see something that I should jump on, " If it is still there it was meant for me and if not, then all well."

You will get another chance, just keep looking.

Never make an emotional decision about a rational product. If you can say buying a motorcycle is rational, lol. They'll be other bikes. Maybe even the exact color you want. Good luck!

I've learned not to bother looking at things like that until I am fully ready to commit. That definitely sucks, but like you said is probably for the better. That bike was probably a lemon lol. One good thing about Harley's is there are A LOT out there. You will find the one!

Apparently it was meant to be. That bike at the dealer for $14,500 is probably $12,000 or less through a private owner. There has to be a ton of bikes for sale, especially this time of the year. Summer is coming and some are thinking of a new bike.
