Default Stage I Upgrade - $$

I just called my stealer to find out what he'd charge to do the SE breather and reflash that makes up a Stage I upgrade. He said it would be just under $350 after taxes. That sounds pretty high to me, but maybe I have an unrealistic expectation. I was kinda hoping for something more in the $200 range. Does this sound right? I really need some more power - with my wife on the back, trying to pass on the highway can be flat out dangerous due to the lack of power. What do y'all think?

Thanks in advance. GG

Think the SE kit runs around $90 for parts, the flash around $150 I think plus labor...

Another option, install the SE kit yourself, get a PCIII or SERT and install it yourself...pretty close to the same cost I reckon and you'll actually be ahead.

I hope you already have some other mufflers installed, otherwise changing the air cleaner will not help you much if you can't move it out the exhaust fast enough with the stock ones.

As zombie said, just for the A/C and ECM flash you're looking at $250, then you need to add labor, so the $350 isn't that far off. You'd be better off getting the Big Sucker (K&N filter, but the same look overall) and installing, getting a PCIII ($250 ish), and mapping it yourself. Then, when you upgrade the pipes, you won't have to do another flash (@$150), just have to create or download a new map for the combination of pipes and A/C.....
