Guess you missed the part about cancer, surgery for the cancer, GI issues, diabetes, archilles issues and now the shoulder surgery . Who knows if he just started riding a couple years ago or maybe he's had 10 bikes and is just talking about the bikes he currently has.

Well one thing is for sure I am not the only one having had shoulder surgery or surgical issues. Its patience required to get to riding again!

That's a shame... It happens.. I hope you have a speedy recovery ..

re: "psychologist" comment . . Yea, I admit on my second post to you in this thread I forgot about you having cancer prior. It was a knucklehead move on my part. Sometimes I have the memory of a gnat. Hang in there . . I too have been through a hell of a lot health wise the past couple of years. I'm 61, been really healthy my whole life, so it's a drag. Let's hope we get on the backside of all this crap soon. I know for me, regardless of physical health bikes have always been a great cure for my head while going through the physical crap. The drag with the shoulder surgery is it keeps you off the bike . . I understand. The cool thing about the surgery is . . in 2 / 3 months you will be able to ride pain free (for the most part / shoulder wise). I was riding for 8 months in pain before surgery. As I said, I wish I had done it sooner. The doc told me shoulder surgery is one of the hardest / longest recoveries. Good luck with it.

My shoulder took forever to heal (rotator) because I kept re-injuring it. Don't do that. Do your PT, and what the doc tells you.

Norty Flatz by reading your post even tho you re-injured it apparently it seems to have healed. I hope that's the case with my shoulder. I don't think it is re-tore but you never know. I have heard tons of people who have re injured their shoulders and required a second surgery...

NYC>streetkid:
No biggie and I see many who comment about riding to put miles on bikes because that's what it is all about. But I am sure you see now that I bought mine late in riding season.

I created this post whining and putting my woe's in there and I see it looks like my pity party but Its just that I have never been locked indoors so to speak and felt so isolated by strict rules not to drive til staples taken out on 23rd. and that is 2 weeks from surgery. Dr. said 2 3 or 4 weeks. He was very persistent by writing in his orders "No driving until he releases me" . When I had my cancer surgery and had a catheter in the day I came home from that major surgery also had 4 incisions , the next day I was on the road. I drove 90+ miles to see Dr. in another town. But strange with 1 arm out of service with an automatic car it seems I am unable to drive. Doesn't make sense. Dr. Covering his Butt !!

Yea like you I don't take comments on the net serious . .

As far as not driving the car, I had to drive early on because I had no one to do stuff for me. Since I was not taking heavy pain meds it was doable. Not too far, just to store or to a cafe to eat / get out. Didn't stay out too long. Yea, I wasn't suppose to but we do what we have to, right? I had diversions at my place. Music etc. I made sure I was covered on those things prior to the surgery. Getting out and walking was a good thing for me. In no way am I telling you to do this but I didn't wear the sling that much when home after a couple weeks. Plus, I am a recording studio owner and couldn't reach across the console at work with the sling so at work it was another place I didn't wear it that much. It was 50 / 50. Doc said it was cool. I was just careful not to make sudden moves because I was told that is how you re injure them. I think everyone has the same concern you have . . that you re injured them. Like a dumbass I picked up a gallon of water (not thinking) a few days in to it and walked it in to my place. I think we all do things, not thinking. I heard some guy a few weeks in quickly reached in the back seat of his car (not thinking) and heard it pop. Had to have it redone. A friend of mine had to have it redone but he too did a dumb thing, so it happens. No one wants to do this surgery again. My doc said a complete shoulder replacement has a better recovery time then a repair . . of course there are different degrees of repairs. Hopefully they gave you one of those therapeutic ice machines. That helped, but of course you have to go down to the store each day to buy bags of ice. No big deal really as it gets you out. Good luck with it. It gets better sooner than you think.

I had 9 screws put in last March. I missed 6 months of riding. (I am 65 yr.) I did not lift anything or use my hand until the doc gave me the ok. Only time I cheated on PT was @ home I would do my exercise 3times a day instead of 2. Do not lift more weight than you are allowed. The pain pills work fair but had too many down sides, I tried smoking med (cbd) it worked excellent does not get you high. My arm is as good as new. I know you are frustrated only you cantake careof yourself . Wish you the best
