I had shoulder surgery 2/8 and Dr. said no driving or riding for 4 weeks. Tonight I reinjured my shoulder tonight and I am afraid I might have re tore the areas Dr. repaired but I will see what he says wed. morn., none the less I am getting anxious now that I see couple 70 degree days coming up soon. Plus this riding season is here. I need Achilles heel surgery but doing that in Nov. off season. I am posting this just venting my frustration of being cooped up and had gastro intestinal issues also last couple of days in fear if its something more serious. I just had cancer surgery july 2015 and now I live in fear will it return. My point is I am going to ride soon as able and enjoy the hell out of it but at 69 with these issues and diabetes's etc etc, if something else serious pops up then I will have to reconsider giving up riding. I am saying this just to throw out there these babies may be for sale. The low rider (blue) is 2016 with 1800 miles and a HOT 120 R motor 126hp/136 torque. It can get a lot more HP with more aggressive exhaust but I love the thunder header but it is hell on wheels. The red bike sportster is a 2013 with 3800 miles and its show room condition with NO issues. So keep a watchful eye out for these bikes they may be up for grabs. They will go fast if up for sale .. That's an IF I put them up for sale ! So looking for support and encouragement to hang in there and keep riding. Dr. is a butt head because he will not flex on letting me drive after my follow up appt.on 2/23. He is making me go 3 to 4 weeks. Anyway Happy riding guys!!!
I damaged a shoulder a couple years ago and missed most of the riding season, but I'm fine now. It does worry you when it takes so long to heal, but take care of yourself, don't push it at your age, and you'll recover faster. I tore an Achilles tendon decades ago, and occasionally miss a shift with forward controls, only time it shows up. I'll be 70 next month. Both your bikes are beauties, don't get discouraged and sell them till you know it's over - and hope it isn't. Good luck.
What Achilles surgery? Mine are trashed and they talked about cadaver donors. I'm in Pain every minute. And I need rotator cuff surgery. You'll be back at it. I've had 3 heart attacks and just keep plugging away. Don't spend time worrying about what might happen. Just make life happen. Deal with **** as it comes up. But until then. Just enjoy life.
Having badly injured both shoulders with full thickness rotator and labrum tears and suffered through surgery on both I can only recommend that you do your post surgery PT religiously and follow their orders daily and multiple times daily when appropriate. It is one of the most painful and slow recoveries there is. I have full range of motion again but it was very hard work. Don't get frustrated. Good luck.
