I saw this, I just had to try it. I did 4 tanks full of 89 octane on the weed end. The only thing that was different was the back fireing was less thenI like. It ran just as fast and hard as the bike would take. I might try it a little long. It is still running good.
What octane does is slow sown the burn rate of the fuel. The reason to run octane, is to stop the fuel from igniting to soon. Higher elevations require less octane than lower elevations. Less air = less compression=less heat=lower cyl temps= less pre ignition. The higher compression the more octane needed. George
