How to clean stock grips on Switchback? They are sticky. Any one come up with any ideas as to clean or treat them.

Welcome to the forum Debs
It just might be the reason the grips are sticky is that someone cleaned them with something to strong instead of soapy water or something mild , might need to replace them

I typically will try rubbing alcohol first. But I don't particularly care for stock HD grips. I don't like the machined metal ones either that they sell at a pretty penny too.

I replaced my grips with a pair of Biltwell Recoil grips. under 20 bucks, they have a nice shape that fits my hand much better than the straight style grips. Almost like a continuous palm swell to fill up the middle. And they provide excellent grip. My hands don't slide around at all. I do wear gloves - regardless but these just work very well for me and cheap.

Personally I never cared for the feel of bare hands on grips but that is just me (and poster above). Still have stock grips on my Road Glide but will get around to replacing them at some point. On the Road King I have Avon grips and like them very much, with an almost sharp textured feel. They did not break the bank either at $40 some dollars. If I were the OP I would replace the stock grips but that's just me. I certainly don't know everything and prove that to myself and my wife every day.

Just found where I paid $44.40 for the Avon grips.

I had the same problem, dirty and sticky stock rubber grips. I broke down and bought some cheap foam grips. They are larger and softer. Can wash with soap and water. Also absorb some of the vibrations.

I run biltwell torkers on mine. I really like them. My dad runs recoils on his dyna and he really likes them for the reasons teal379 mentions. All in all biltwell makes some good looking quality grips. A lot of cool colors too if you want to match or compliment the paint. I'm dying to paint my bike a metallic root beer with red flake so I can use the cream colored ones.

I changed my Blackline way after they got sticky. It was like grabbing a little kids toy after they ate some candy. But with my Breakout, I did that pretty much in the first month.

I wear full gloves all the time after watching a guy lay his bike down and he was dragging his finger tips across the asphalt. Can't seem to get that image out of my head.

+1 for this style of grips. The "fatter in the middle" contour is way more comfortable for me for longer rides. I was using the Harley "get a grip" model (same shape, more chrome, and more money &#128512 on my Deluxe. Wish someone made a heated version for the limited...
