Default SERT Connectivity issue

I sincerely apologize for cross posting twice in a single day, but I'm getting desperate and all the dealerships are closed for the day.[]

Well, I finally got everything together, got my cables, all of my software is installed and I'm ready to rock. Took the seat off, connected to the data port and it seems to be able to see the ECM, but when I execute the "Get ECM Info" function, my VIN, ECM PN, and CAL ID all come back as "Not found".

I am running WinXP and its latest service pack with a standard serial port. The port is set to COM1, per Device Manager, and my COM port is set to COM1 in the Tuning Mode software. Do I need to adjust baud rates (currently set at 9600 by default)? Anything else I might look at on the laptop?

Make sure your RUN button is on, if not it does not work.

I have had a similiar problem. I found taking the following steps worked.

#1 Mount the sert to the laptop prior to booting up

#2 Boot the laptop with Sert installed. Connect to bike

#3 Accept the waiver, and then choose the map you wish to download.

#4 Make sure the ignition swith and run button are both on (engine not running)

#5 hit program ECM button.

#6 hit "get ecm info" button. This should confirm your hooked up. If not just try the other ports until you find the one that is active

#7 Hit program ECM should be good to go.

Thanks for all the help guys. It was totally my fault, did not see the instruction to move the kill switch to run. Sorry to have bugged you all. On the upside, the bike is running and seems to like the map. Will hopefully get a few more miles in tonight, but she seemed happy on the trip to get gas and back.
