Well, I finally got everything together, got my cables, all of my software is installed and I'm ready to rock. Took the seat off, connected to the data port and it seems to be able to see the ECM, but when I execute the "Get ECM Info" function, my VIN, ECM PN, and CAL ID all come back as "Not found".
I am running WinXP and its latest service pack with a standard serial port. The port is set to COM1, per Device Manager, and my COM port is set to COM1 in the Tuning Mode software. Do I need to adjust baud rates (currently set at 9600 by default)? Anything else I might look at on the laptop?
Thanks for all the help guys. It was totally my fault, did not see the instruction to move the kill switch to run. Sorry to have bugged you all. On the upside, the bike is running and seems to like the map. Will hopefully get a few more miles in tonight, but she seemed happy on the trip to get gas and back.
