He apparently strayed to far to the edge of the road near the white line while going around a long gradual left turn. Most likely due to being early in the riding season (North Jersey) there is a lot of sand, small rock and debri buildup near the edge of the road and his front tire caught it. Bike started to slide and he tried to correct and front tire eventually caught pavement again and through him over the handle bars. That's all I really know but that is basically what the guy in the car behind him told police.

Latest update on Randy from his wife.
"Again, I can't thank everyone enough for your support and prayers. It's going tto be a very long road for recovery for Randy. He is a fighter!
Many of you ask to visit him,they ask for no visitors in the ICU. When things turn around for him and the will let him have visitors I certainly will let everyone know.
The latest on Randy as of yesterday: They are reducing the meds that are keeping him in the coma. He should be waking in the next 3 or 4 days. They hope to do surgery in 2 weeks. His facial structure is completely shattered. Doctors believe he will lose some sight in his right eye. They will be doing a MRI the beginning of the week to determine if there is any unforseen damage or damage to the brain itself. They estimate he will be in ICU for at least 6 weeks. Please keep praying for him! I can already see how the power of prayer is helping him heal."

I just found out that a local Pub in North Jersey named SALT is hosting an event called Dine to Donate for Randy Miller on April 27th. Please attend if you are in the area as this will go a long way helping Randy. I have attached the flier they are handing out and they may have something posted on their website as well.
Randy's wife provided another update today.
"updating Randy's status of the last 2 days because so much has happened in 24 hours. He wasn't suppose to get an MRI till next week. Yesterday his vitals were awesome, so they took him down for the MRI. No additional head or neck injuries. They removed the neck brace. They are weaning him slowly every 12 hours off the chemically induced meds. His ribs are cracked or broken in 20 different places. We are waiting on Neurology to review the MRI and report what damage if any to the brain, which they believe there will be some, but if they can determine it now it prepares us for the road ahead. Tomorrow he goes into the OR for a tracheotomy and a feeding tube in his stomach so they can start preparing for wiring his jaw closed. His facial bones have been completely shattered.so in another week or 2 they will finish reconstructing his facial features. He will still be listed in critical condition, since with any surgery there is some risk. They have put him on antibotics. To see him his face is held together with what looks like a sling shot. So again I ask and I don't ask for much to keep up the prayers because the Lord knows his path and I shall follow, I will never give up because we are soul mates and some day not real soon he will be home again."

Lord, as we continue to gather in front of Your throne of mercy and grace in this great time of need, We collectively lift Randy up before You. Lord, for healing, for restoration, for comfort for his amazing wife, who has tremendous faith in You, and trusts You with all of her heart. There are many giants that need to be conquered, Lord. Fear, discouragement, worry, loneliness, anger. And Your word has something to say about all of these. It says "fear Not", It says: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong, and of a good courage, do not be afraid nor dismayed, for the Lord Your God is with you wherever you go." Lord I claim that command for Randy's wife, and for Randy, as well I pray that You will slay the giant of worry, for them. Lord, time and time again, you have healed those who are in the most dire of circumstances. We don't gather lightly here tonight, Lord. The facts are Randy is badly injured, and the only hope we hold on to is You, Lord. That you will lift the skill levels of the doctors, that You will allow them to see things that don't show. and that You will be the guide to their hands, to steady them, to place Your loving touch, and Your Miraculous compassion, all over this issue. Lord, nothing is too hard for You, and You have kept Randy in Your loving arms, and comforted the family. we ask for more Lord. More Love, more healing, more miracles, More of all the things that You do, because, You have always loved Randy, and You always will. Lord, we believe, please help us with our unbelief. Show us Lord, Show us again why we call You Master, Healer, Author and finisher of our Faith, Lord, You alone are God, and You alone can heal our Randy, so we plead with You this evening, to answer this prayer, in Your time, by Your will, and for Your Glory, its in the precious name of Jesus, that we pray.

Latest update on Randy
I want to thank everyone for your continuous prayers, words of encouragement and hope, your kindness and generosity during this time. It means so much to have this kind of support from our friends and family and even complete strangers that care. We can feel the love! Each day, each new hurdle we have to stay strong for Randy. Again all I ask is for your prayers.
As of the latest update, they did an MRI there were no additional fractures to his neck, collar area or spine.
There was some type of shearing to the... brain, but have not heard from neurology yet. Shearing occurs when the brain accelerates or rotates quickly or violently. So the brain damage can be minimal or severe. They won't know until he awakes. He had a tracheotomy and is on a ventilator. He shows distress when touched and is in very much pain, he shows with facial expressions so they have increased his pain meds. He is on Fentanyl which is 50 to 100 times more powerful than morphine. Each day he is making some progress.
