Randy will be going into surgery at 3pm today. The doctors will be wiring his jaw and re-constructing his face. The procedures take 3 to 5 hours. Please keep on praying.

My Lord, and my God, we come before Your throne of Mercy and Grace this evening, calling on the Creator of the universe, who spoke all things into existence, who gave up His throne, to become a human sacrifice, for our sinful nature, and who raised Himself from the dead, to prove, that You have victory over death. This is who we seek tonight, the God who saves, and the God who heals, and the God who restores, and the God of second chances, and third, and fourth. Lord, we come today for the benefit of Randy, and for his family. We continue to petition You, our King, for his full recovery, successful surgeries, restored functions, and Lord most of all, that he meet You, face to face this day. I pray that while injuries abound, and life hangs in the balance, its his very soul, that we care most about. And it is no mistake, that meeting You face to face, is life changing, and that healing can begin from the inside out. Lord let Your light shine as a beacon, and guide him gently to Your shore, and Let him walk with You a while, and know that he is in the very Hands of God. How could You ever forget Randy, Lord? You have carved his picture on the palm of Your hand. Lord, please heal him, this day, bring him out of wherever he is, and back into this world, with stories, of You, to share with his family. Bring comfort to them, by sending legions of angels to minister, and to shower with Your love, and promise that You are right there, every minute. Lord, we pray Your will for this man, and his family, will not the Creator of the universe do what is right? Will not our prayers be heard tonight? We know better, Lord, We continue to put our faith, hope, and trust in you, in this situation, and give thanks, in this situation, as it give us the opportunity to come before Your throne, and lean on You, alone for all things, and with You Lord, all things are possible. In Jesus name we pray

Facial reconstruction surgery was postponed due to concerns with his breathing.
Update from Randy's wife
"Randy's surgery went very well and with no complications. He is still in a coma state and listed in critical condition. He has a long road to recovery.
Thank you everyone for your words of inspiration, your generosity, your acts of kindness but most of all for all your prayers. The Randy we all know is goofy, funny and loves life and he would truly be brought to tears if he knew how much he is loved by family and friends and these random acts."

He apparently strayed to far to the edge of the road near the white line while going around a long gradual left turn. Most likely due to being early in the riding season (North Jersey) there is a lot of sand, small rock and debri buildup near the edge of the road and his front tire caught it. Bike started to slide and he tried to correct and front tire eventually caught pavement again and through him over the handle bars. That's all I really know but that is basically what the guy in the car behind him told police.
Hoping for the best for your buddy.
I see in your pictures that he wore a "soupbowl" helmet. I have to wonder if his helmet "slid back/side/forward" during the crash, thus reducing it's effectiveness. This is a huge problem with these types of helmets. This is just a bummer, all the way around.

Failure to negotiate a turn is probably the largest single factor for motorcycle crashes where no one else is involved.
Hoping for the best for your buddy.
I see in your pictures that he wore a "soupbowl" helmet. I have to wonder if his helmet "slid back/side/forward" during the crash, thus reducing it's effectiveness. This is a huge problem with these types of helmets. This is just a bummer, all the way around.
