Back it out some, then position the angle of the backrest where you want it by hand, (it takes a bit of effort), then turn the screw in till it touches. That's all there is to it.
From my limited experience Corbin customer service is a joke. Unless you're the original purchaser they will not help, even if you are they still won't help

Glad to help. I couldn't figure it out at first either. I actually had to read the directions. Can you imagine? Me having to read instructions? That's the most unheard of thing I ever heard of!
