Buying my first HD for my wife and I pre owned. I'm not new at riding 35 motorcycle every year since 16 just metrics mostly rockets. I have narrowed it down to two contestants, bike will be used for 2 up riding.
1st bike 99 heritage softail 7500 orig miles 1340 evo full vibration show room condition. $2000 in recent tires carb rebuild etc
or bike #2
2002 Road king classic dealer serviced new every year nes tires hydraulic cam chain tensioner mint condition as well for miles at least but 60k miles
the rd king is $1000 more than the heritage
if it was a car I would go for low mile heritage but it's not
I know rd king is better for 2 up riding all my had buddies tell me not to worry about miles as long as it was maintained but still I'm nervous buying high **** bike when I can have low mile for a little more if they were both rd kings I'd just pay up.
My other concern is the full vibration on 99 heritage. So I guess vibration aside what bike would you go for? Should I really not worry about mileage on TC? Both bikes are priced trade in value I have spent days on Craigslist etc. buying a low mile tc is out of the question we just bought our first home. Thank you in advance. Newbie

High mile twin cam or low mile evo

I'd take the Heritage. A lot less miles.

You don't mention your budget but given those choices I'd keep looking. Lots of low mile, later model year twin cams gathering dust that won't sell.

In 02 Harley beefed up the swing arm, a big plus. Can't remember what years they had the MM EFI issues. I personally would overlook the mileage if I trusted the maintenance records. as the Road King is a superior bike IMO, especially for 2 up riding.

60k miles on the road king is not bad. TC's will go over 100k and then some with minimal maintenance. I'd go for the king. 02 was a great year for the TC, had the forged crank and lefty bearing as well as Delphi if injected.

I still say go for the king, but that's just my opinion.
