I swore for years I would never have a Road Glide, the ugliest bike Harley made.
I had several softballs, but kept telling a friend who is a salesman, that when HD came out with a CVO street glide, I was getting it.
Well two years later HD came out with a CVO Road Glide. He talked me into it, so I got an 09 CVO Road glide. Loved it. A year later in Vegas they didn't have road glide rentals, so I rented a street glide, hated it.
Put 47K miles on the 09 before I traded it on a 12 CVO road glide. I put 46K on the 12 before I traded it on a 15 CVO Road Glide Ultra. I put 44K on the 15 before I traded it on the 17 CVO Street glide.
I also have a 13 CVO King, very built. I love the king. Its a great bike.
In my mind the Road Glide is the best Harley. Easiest bike with a fairing to handle at parking lot speeds. Much better in cross winds, much better in the dirty air around an 18 wheeler.
The street glide does have better rain protection. The Rushmore street glide are better than the pre rushmore ones, but not as nice as a road glide.
As soon as HD has a CVO Road glide my CVO street glide will be traded.
I have a 06 street bob with 16 inch apes I always swore was the most comfortable bike I've ever owned till one day not long ago the local dealer talked me into riding a RG well long story short I now own a 15 RG and my street bob I love riding them but hands down the RG is a amazing bike for the long hauls! My only complaint I had was the factory handle bars sucked for me so a short two hours later I installed a set of 14 inch apes and now I can go all day on it no problem
Good day fellow riders. Must be a Spring thing but I'm actually debating on going over to the dark side and getting a new Road Glide. Not that I'm a marathon distance rider (although I could become one), but I'm thinking more comfort for what could likely be my last new bike. I'd like to read your thoughts on this; especially from riders that have gone from Road King to Road Glide!
These new Glides with a slightly redesigned fairing look and sound pretty good. Any thoughts ppl?
Thanks for your time

NOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with what Dickey Said!!!!! I plan to eventually step up to a Road King. It is the quintessential Harley!
Good comments and varied opinions. Much appreciated from everyone. Dickey, I know that you're a diehard King man and was hoping you'd comment. Crack me up.......Rosie may still end up coming home to my house
